For any containment strategy to work there needs to be sufficient cool air in the cold aisle. check out www.adaptivcool/hotspotr.html for an effective solution to supply the right amount of cool air in the cold aisles regardless of underfloor obstructions etc.

I have a patent pending system that contains cold air and segregates hot air using air curtains.The hot air is not exhausted because that requires fresh air and the costs for heating/cooling/humidification/dehumidification of the fresh air.I use large air to air heat exchangers with evaporative and dry cooling capability. my blog on the dcj contains a link to drawings and schematics.take a look,I would appreciate feedback
